Project Overview
This project involved the refurbishment of an 18th-century Grade II listed building, using a selection of our brick range to transform it into high-quality modern office facilities arranged over three floors. The scheme formed part of a wider redevelopment strategy, delivering 10 new office rooms, meeting spaces, and staff facilities, while carefully preserving the building’s historic character.
The primary objective was to extend the usable life of the listed building and meet contemporary workplace standards without compromising its architectural significance. A key element of the interior design was the introduction of internal brick slip feature walls, using a range of brick colours and textures to reference the original fabric of the building while creating a professional, modern office environment.
Brick Type: Iced Grey Multi
Brick slip locations within the building
TBS brick slips were used to create internal feature walls throughout key areas of the building, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. These applications include a number of modern spacious professional ofices, break rooms and a bespoke meeting room finished with Iced Grey Multi brick slips, where the brickwork adds texture, warmth, and visual interest.
Choice of brick slips
Several bricks were selected from the Traditional Brick and Stone brick range, offering timeless style and dependable quality including:
Olde Althorne Brick Slips were chosen for their weathered, reclaimed appearance, with subtle colour variations that create a naturally aged and characterful finish.
Old Coach House Brick Slips feature a textured, rustic surface with warm reddish-brown tones, adding depth and warmth while providing a striking contrast to the sleek black fireplace.
Iced Grey Multi Brick Slips display a range of colour variations from deep charcoal grey to soft off-white, delivering a professional yet welcoming atmosphere. This understated grey brick slip design complements modern, contemporary office interiors where focus and productivity are essential.
Middleton Blend Brick Slips offer a warm, classic rustic red-brown tone with natural, organic variations across each brick, creating an authentic traditional brickwork aesthetic.

The completed office spaces successfully blend modern functionality with subtle references to the building’s historic origins. Internal brick slip feature walls add depth, texture, and character, reinforcing the building’s identity while maintaining a clearly contemporary office aesthetic. The use of Traditional Brick & Stone brick slips provided a sensitive and practical design solution that respected the listed status of the building while fully supporting the commercial objectives of the redevelopment.
