Project Overview
The Endsleigh Centre, originally established as a convent in 1901, underwent a significant transformation into 132 luxury apartments. Adjacent to this historic building, new student accommodation was developed to meet the growing demand for housing at Hull University.
Architectural Challenge:
The new student accommodation was designed to complement the original convent's aesthetic, which was constructed using period sandstone bricks. Maintaining a harmonious visual connection between the old and new structures was essential.
Brick Choice
Traditional Brick & Stone's Oxford Smooth Cream bricks were selected for the new development. These bricks, part of the company's wirecut range, offer a smooth texture and a subtle cream hue that closely matches the tone of the original sandstone. This choice ensured a seamless integration of the modern student accommodation with the historic convent, preserving the site's architectural integrity.
This brick is part of our popular wirecut range, that offers a wide range of colours and textures.
